So are you a color photograph lover or do you prefer black and white? While most will argue that there is a place for each, I personally enjoy the complex depth of a black and white image. When on an assignment I am often asked to capture at least one moment in black and white to see if it tells the story that the client wants conveyed. So which do you prefer? Color or black and white? As a photographer I lean hard towards the depth of contrast in a desaturated image. However, I think rich and vibrant colors captured with light can be just as inspiring to the beholder.

In many ways this where I am in my journey. I recently moved to Durango to get away from the mundane city life and I have never looked back. I am looking forward to making new friends along my journey.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by Studio G at Hardy & Nance Street Studios this past Saturday to indulge in the fine art prints by resident photographers Curtis W. DeGidio and myself as well as our two guest artist, Anna Spradley and JD Stanley. It was a great networking opportunity and allowed everyone to exchange ideas and thoughts on upcoming events.

Real Estate Photography in Houston

Lately there has been quite a buzz about Real Estate Photography and the benefits of hiring a professional photographer as opposed to an Agent taking point and shoot images to post in MLS and to perhaps create a brochure of the property. Photography is about being able to capture or create the proper lighting, include elements, staging the shot, and to give it depth and appeal to the home buyer. Personally sometimes post-processing such as High Dynamic Range Photography or HDR can enhance an image too well and in turn create a false image that could be negative once the potential buyer views the home for his or herself. If toned properly however an HDR image can really produce a creative image that show more what the human eye can see.
